Peruvian regional mayors secure funding for infrastructure projects

Mayors from the Loreto border province of Putumayo obtained approval for a S/40 million package of works, including water, education and cultural projects, and secured S/5 million to continue construction of the Padre Medardo André school.

In the Piura region, provincial mayors met with president‑elect Keiko Fujimori to request urgent budget allocations for El Niño response measures, focusing on water and sanitation, the completion of a long‑delayed hospital and a vital road to Ayabaca.
