Peshawar High Court orders investigation into minister’s abduction

The Peshawar High Court has directed the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police chief to investigate the alleged abduction of provincial minister Fazal Shakoor Khan and take immediate steps for his recovery.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Kamran Hayat Miankhel issued the order following a petition filed by the minister’s brother. The petition alleges that unidentified armed men kidnapped Shakoor near a motorway toll plaza on September 21, despite the presence of police.

During previous proceedings, it was noted that approximately 14 men were involved in the abduction, though two companions of the minister were later released. The court has ordered a thorough inquiry to ensure the minister is recovered.
