Pet Shop Boys announce Alan Turing tribute album

Pet Shop Boys have announced a new conceptual album titled ‘A Man From The Future’, scheduled for release on 9 October 2026 via Parlophone Records. The project is a musical tribute to the life and legacy of British mathematician and codebreaker Alan Turing.

Developed in collaboration with Turing biographer Professor Andrew Hodges, the eight-part work follows a chronological structure. It covers Turing’s education, his pivotal role in deciphering the Enigma machine during World War II, his contributions to artificial intelligence, his prosecution for homosexuality, and his death. The album features a blend of electronic and orchestral music, including string arrangements by the Manchester Camerata Octet and narration by actress Juliet Stevenson.

The recording, produced alongside composer Sven Helbig, was captured in the UK and Germany. It will be available in various formats, including vinyl, a 2CD set, and a Blu-ray audio edition featuring Dolby Atmos versions. Prior to the official release, the album will be broadcast on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 3 on 4 October. Additionally, Neil Tennant, Chris Lowe, and Andrew Hodges will participate in a listening event and discussion at the Imperial War Museum North in Manchester on 8 October.
