Pet Shop Boys have announced a new conceptual album titled ‘A Man From The Future’, set for release on October 9 via Parlophone Records. The eight-track project serves as a musical memorial to the life and legacy of mathematician and cryptanalyst Alan Turing.

Developed in collaboration with Turing biographer Andrew Hodges, the album is structured into eight chronological chapters. It covers Turing’s early life, his work at Bletchley Park during World War II, his contributions to computing and artificial intelligence, and the legal persecution he faced due to his sexuality.

The production combines electronic music with orchestral arrangements by Sven Helbig, performed by the Manchester Camerata Octet. Actress Juliet Stevenson provides spoken-word narration adapted from Hodges’ book, ‘Alan Turing: The Enigma’. The final track incorporates archival audio of former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown addressing Turing’s royal pardon.

To celebrate the release, the duo will host a listening event and discussion with Andrew Hodges on October 8 at the Imperial War Museum North in Manchester. The album will also receive a special broadcast on BBC Radio in early October.
