Pet Welfare Festivals in Peru's Pueblo Libre and Ecuador's Quito
The Municipality of Pueblo Libre, Lima, Peru, organized the Patitas Felices Festival on Saturday, July 18. The free event provided veterinary services—including deworming, ear cleaning, nail trimming, flea treatment and rabies vaccination—for dogs and cats, alongside a responsible‑adoption campaign, grooming exhibition, pet blessing and family activities.
In Quito, Ecuador, the Gran Donatón 2026 was held at Parque Bicentenario on August 1‑2. Twenty‑three animal‑rescue foundations gathered to run a pet‑friendly fair where citizens could donate balanced food, medicines, cleaning supplies and cash for rescued dogs and cats. The fair also featured stalls from participating NGOs and allied brands, promoting responsible pet ownership and supporting shelters facing increased demand.
