Pete Crow-Armstrong wins MLB Players Choice Awards

Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong has been named both Player of the Year and National League Outstanding Player at the 2026 MLB Players Choice Awards. The honors, determined by a vote of active Major League players, recognize Crow-Armstrong’s standout season in which he achieved a 40-40 campaign, hitting 45 home runs and stealing 41 bases while posting a league-leading 10.6 WAR.

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani was a finalist for both the Player of the Year and NL Outstanding Player awards but did not win. Ohtani finished the season with 30 home runs and 81 RBIs, while also contributing as a pitcher with an 1.79 ERA over 85.2 innings before injuries limited his second-half availability.

Other 2026 Players Choice Award winners include Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros as the American League Outstanding Player, Cam Schlittler as the American League Outstanding Pitcher, and Jacob Misiorowski as the National League Outstanding Pitcher. Chris Bassitt received the Marvin Miller Man of the Year Award, and David Cone was honored with the Curt Flood Award.
