Petrobras acquires naming rights for Copa Maria Bonita

Petrobras has acquired the naming rights for the Copa Maria Bonita, the largest women's football championship in Northeast Brazil. Following the success of its inaugural edition, the competition will now be officially known as the Copa Maria Bonita Petrobras.

The second edition of the tournament is scheduled for November in Pernambuco. The project aims to increase visibility for female athletes and strengthen clubs within the region. The competition receives support from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and the Pernambuco Football Federation (FPF).

The first edition of the tournament featured over 250 athletes and professionals from nine Northeastern states. Matches were broadcast via GOAT, NSports, and TV Globo, with the final between Fortaleza and Sport reaching 1.5 million viewers in Pernambuco and Ceará alone.
