Petrobras cuts Brazil aviation kerosene price by 14.5%

Brazilian state oil company Petrobras announced a 14.5% reduction in the price of aviation kerosene sold to distributors, lowering the cost by R$ 0.81 per litre. The new price range is R$ 4.67‑4.93 per litre, marking the second consecutive cut after a 14.2% decline in June.

The adjustment follows a moderation of international oil‑price pressures after the United States and Israel’s February attack on Iran, which had previously driven up global petroleum product prices. Petrobras president Magda Chambriard said the move reflects the easing of those external shocks and that gasoline prices are expected to follow the same downward trend.

Despite the cut, aviation kerosene remains about 40.5% higher than at the end of 2025, and the fuel has risen 40.5% over the current year. Petrobras supplies roughly 85% of Brazil’s aviation kerosene, so the price change will affect airlines, airport operators, and other aviation fuel users nationwide.
