Banco Master legal payments under Federal Police investigation
The Federal Police have identified suspicious financial movements involving Banco Master and several law firms. An internal audit from the Banco Regional de Brasília (BRB) revealed that Banco Master paid R$ 33 million to the law firm of Dalide Corrêa in 2024. Intercepted communications between bank executives described Corrêa's office as a “direct channel with the STF” (Supreme Federal Court).
The audit also highlighted a significant increase in legal expenses for the bank, which rose from R$ 76 million in 2023 to R$ 215 million in 2024. Additionally, the investigation noted R$ 40 million in payments to the law firm of Viviane Barci de Moraes, the wife of Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
Dalide Corrêa's defense has denied any improper influence at the Supreme Court, stating her work was limited to lower courts regarding credit sales. Meanwhile, the Rio de Janeiro Bar Association (OAB-RJ) issued a statement of support for lawyer Rodrigo Fux, following the disclosure of messages between him and banker Daniel Vorcaro, asserting no professional misconduct was evident.
