Petrosian anti‑mafia raids result in 12 arrests and minors' searches

On 23 July 2026 the Carabinieri of Trapani carried out a coordinated anti‑mafia operation in Petrosino, Sicily, following an investigation led by the Palermo anti‑mafia prosecutor that began in December 2022 and concluded in February 2024.

The raid placed twelve suspects in pre‑trial detention on charges of mafia association, extortion, intimidation, arson, illegal weapons possession and drug trafficking. Nine additional search orders targeted minors allegedly involved. Among those detained were Marco Buffa, Kevin Favara, Antonio Maltese and Salvatore Licari, as identified by the authorities.
