Peugeot explores fastback design for future 308 model
Peugeot is exploring a new design direction for its future 308 model to compete with the rising dominance of the SUV segment. The manufacturer is considering a fastback silhouette that blends elements of a coupe, a SUV, and a traditional five-door compact. This strategic shift aims to offer a more aerodynamic and elegant alternative to classic crossovers while targeting key markets such as the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey.
The proposed model would likely utilize the Stellantis STLA One platform, which supports both electric and hybrid powertrains. This platform could enable greater efficiency and potentially higher range than current models. The design is expected to follow the brand’s ‘Feline Future’ aesthetic, characterized by sleek lines and horizontal lighting signatures. A production version is not expected until approximately 2029 or 2030.
In the Romanian market, Eurial Pitești continues to showcase the current Peugeot lineup, including the 2008 SUV and the 3008, alongside other brands like OMODA and JAECOO.
