Peugeot launches electric E‑208 GTi and Geely tests record‑efficient Galaxy TT EV

Peugeot has engineered an electric version of its iconic 208 GTi, focusing on chassis tuning, steering precision and battery‑thermal management rather than sheer power. Leveraging expertise from its Le Mans 9X8 hypercar programme, the company aims to preserve the GTi’s lively response and driver connection despite the added weight of a battery and the absence of a traditional gearbox or engine sound.

Meanwhile, Chinese automaker Geely unveiled the Galaxy TT sedan, which achieved a Guinness‑record low energy consumption of 8.2 kWh per 100 km during tests around Lake Qinghai. The car uses a lightweight 16‑in‑one integrated powertrain that weighs about 75 kg and reaches an efficiency of 93.8 %. Depending on the battery pack – from 52.4 kWh to 75.2 kWh – the model can deliver a theoretical range of up to 725 km under the CLTC cycle. Both manufacturers highlight that improving efficiency and performance through advanced engineering is central to the next generation of electric vehicles.
