Peugeot launches updated 408 and new 5008 GT Hybrid SUV in 2026
Peugeot has refreshed its mid‑size 408 model for the European market, adding a new front and rear light signature, a fresh “Verde Flair” paint option and updated i‑Cockpit controls. The range remains fully electrified: the plug‑in hybrid now receives an 18 kWh battery, 240 hp and up to 85 km of electric range, while the pure‑electric version keeps a 60 kWh pack with a 456‑km WLTP range.
In Japan, Stellantis Japan unveiled a special‑edition 5008 GT Hybrid Cielo, a three‑row seven‑seat SUV measuring 4.81 m long. It pairs a 1.2‑litre turbo‑charged three‑cylinder engine with a 0.9 kWh hybrid system delivering 136 hp, achieving an official fuel consumption of 18.4 km/L (WLTC). The Cielo version adds a panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade, laminated side glass, and an Air Quality System that monitors cabin air. The vehicle is priced at ¥6,386,000 (tax‑included).
