Peugeot to Keep 208 Gasoline Model in Production Past 2030

Peugeot confirmed that its current 208 compact car, offered with gasoline and mild‑hybrid powertrains, will remain on sale beyond 2030. CEO Alain Favey said the company will continue to supply the thermal versions "as long as there is demand", noting that market readiness for fully electric vehicles varies across regions.

A new all‑electric e‑208 is slated to debut next year on a fresh platform, and the existing 208 may receive a substantial facelift to align with the upcoming model. While Peugeot expects a strong rise in battery‑electric demand, it does not anticipate gasoline sales to disappear quickly, so the internal‑combustion and hybrid variants will coexist with the electric version for the foreseeable future.
