PGA Tour expands alliance, appoints former 3M CEO to board
The PGA Tour announced a new strategic partnership with the DP World Tour and the Asian Tour that will run through 2029. The alliance is intended to broaden the Tour’s international presence and safeguard against competing leagues, building on the 2021 cooperation that helped keep the LIV Golf league out of the PGA’s market.
In a separate move, the Tour named Michael F. Roman, former chairman and chief executive of 3M, as an independent director on its policy board. Board chairman Joe Gorder said Roman’s global business experience will support the Tour’s continued growth and innovation as it prepares to launch a two‑tier system for 2028.
The developments reflect a broader effort by the PGA Tour to strengthen its governance and commercial structure amid ongoing changes to its competition format.
