PGN expands CSR with gas‑safety training for UMKM and plastic‑recycling pilot

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN) conducted an interactive gas‑safety education session for small and medium enterprises (UMKM) in Bojonegoro, East Java. The workshop, held on 22 July 2026 at Hotel Eastern, covered safe handling of natural gas, leak response procedures, and energy‑efficiency benefits. PGN Area Head Faishal Arief emphasized the lighter‑than‑air nature of the gas, its odorisation, and urged participants to maintain safe installation distances and report incidents via Pertamina Call Center (135) or PGN’s WhatsApp service.

Separately, PGN partnered with the Cilegon municipal government, Kertabumi Recycling Centre, National Geographic Indonesia, and Bank Sampah Al‑Bustaniyah to launch the "Rumah Hijau Nusantara" program. The initiative supplied shredders, extruders and other equipment to the local waste‑bank, enabling the processing of 871 kg of plastic waste into furniture, accessories and other products over two months. CSR Division Head Krisdyan Widagdo Adhi described the project as a step toward a circular economy, with PGN acting as a potential off‑taker for recycled goods and supporting UMKM market development.
