PGN Indonesia CSR Initiatives
Overview
PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) broadened its corporate‑social‑responsibility (CSR) activities across Indonesia. In Cilegon, the company partnered with the municipal government, Kertabumi Recycling Centre, National Geographic Indonesia and Bank Sampah Al‑Bustaniyah to run the "Rumah Hijau Nusantara" circular‑economy program. PGN supplied shredders, extruders and other equipment, enabling the processing of 871 kg of plastic waste into value‑added products such as furniture, tissue holders and key‑chains.
Separately, PGN organised interactive gas‑safety workshops for micro, small and medium‑enterprise (UMKM) operators in Bojonegoro, East Java. The sessions covered safe handling of natural gas, leak‑response procedures, distance requirements and reporting mechanisms via Pertamina’s Call Center and PGN’s WhatsApp service. Both initiatives aim to support local economies, promote environmental stewardship, and improve industrial safety.
Across the two locations, PGN positioned itself as a potential off‑taker for recycled goods and a technical resource for UMKM, reinforcing its role in Indonesia’s transition toward a greener, safer industrial sector.
