PH and BN to decide Melaka election strategy by Malaysia Day

Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) are expected to determine the direction of their cooperation for the upcoming Melaka state election before Malaysia Day on September 16.

PH election director and Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari stated that discussions are currently in the preliminary exploratory stage. Further sessions are scheduled for this week to assess progress before any final decisions are made. Amirudin noted that any agreement would require reporting to and approval from the leadership of both PH and PKR.

The negotiations will take into account the historical context of the two coalitions, which have previously functioned as allies in some state elections while competing against one another in states such as Johor and Negeri Sembilan.
