PHI12 thermal pool begins testing in Montegrotto Terme

Testing has begun for PHI12, a new thermal pool in Montegrotto Terme, Italy, which is being developed as the deepest thermal pool in the world. The structure features a depth of 44 meters and a diameter of 12 meters.

Designed by architect Emanuele Boaretto, the project aims to expand the existing Y-40 The Deep Joy underwater center. The facility is intended to serve as a hub for scientific research, medical training, professional diving instruction, and audiovisual productions.

The current phase involves technical testing, including the introduction of water to monitor pressure, system integrity, and pump controls. This stage is critical for ensuring the facility meets all safety and technical specifications before it eventually opens to the public.
