Phil Collins and Paul McCartney reconcile after 24-year feud

Phil Collins and Paul McCartney have ended a 24-year feud that began during the Queen’s Golden Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace in 2002. The tension originated when Collins, seeking an autograph for a rare Beatles biography, felt patronized by a comment McCartney made to his then-wife, Heather Mills, referring to Collins as ‘our little Phil’.

While the incident became public in 2016 through Collins’ memoir, the two musicians remained estranged. The reconciliation occurred recently via a phone call initiated by McCartney after learning that Collins was organizing a charity auction for The King’s Trust. During the call, Collins expressed regret for making the matter public, and the two musicians reportedly ‘kissed and made up’.

Separately, Collins has discussed his past struggles with alcoholism and the impact his addiction had on his family, including his daughter, actress Lily Collins. He noted that his health crises had caused significant fear for his family members regarding his survival.
