Philadelphia police and FBI begin intensive search of Horsch home

Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and Philadelphia Police, are launching an expansive new phase of an investigation at a residence in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia. The search focuses on a home on Chew Avenue previously occupied by Raymond Horsch and his son, Eugene Horsch.

Investigators plan to use heavy machinery to excavate parts of the property and are expected to dismantle sections of the interior, including removing floorboards, drywall, and furniture. The search aims to uncover forensic evidence related to at least seven missing women who have been linked to the residence through recovered digital media. Authorities also intend to use luminol to detect traces of blood.

The investigation follows the June arrest of Eugene Horsch, during which an accomplice allegedly provided a fake ID bearing the name of a missing woman. Previous searches of the property uncovered a makeshift lab in the basement containing chemical substances and an unknown sludge, which are currently undergoing laboratory testing. Investigators are also exploring whether chemicals were used in the home for the purpose of body disposal.
