Philip Morris supply chain agreement generates €3 billion in value

Luigi Scordamaglia, CEO of Filiera Italia, highlighted the economic impact of the 15-year supply chain agreement between Philip Morris Italia and the Italian agricultural sector. During a roadshow promoted by Coldiretti and Philip Morris Italia, Scordamaglia stated that the model has generated over 3 billion euros in value through investments and returns across the supply chain.

Scordamaglia noted that the agreement anticipated several modern European policy themes, including long-term commitments of up to 10 years, price transparency, digitalization, and sustainability. He also used the occasion to criticize current European commercial policies, arguing that the EU must better protect its production chains and address the importation of products from third countries that do not meet European production standards.
