Philippine authorities seize millions in illegal drugs during separate operations

Law enforcement agencies in the Philippines conducted separate successful anti-drug operations in Davao del Sur and General Santos City on September 8, 2026, resulting in multiple arrests and significant drug seizures.

In Malalag, Davao del Sur, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and regional police arrested a 27-year-old suspect known as “Dom” during a buy-bust operation. Authorities seized approximately 57 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) valued at P780,000. The operation also uncovered 66 packets of suspected dried marijuana leaves, marijuana kush, and marijuana oil cartridges.

In General Santos City, a coordinated operation by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 12, local police, and PDEA 12 led to the arrest of three high-value suspects identified as “Naro,” “Jolt,” and “Kick.” Police recovered approximately 200.8 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of P1,365,440. The suspects are currently in custody pending inquest proceedings for alleged violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
