Philippine automotive sales hit 2026 peak in July

The Philippine automotive industry recorded its highest monthly sales of the year in July, reaching an estimated 42,880 units. This figure includes sales from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), alongside estimates for brands outside those organizations.

Electrified vehicle (xEV) sales continue to show significant growth. From January to July, 38,286 xEV units were sold, representing a 136.4 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025. xEVs now account for 15.84 percent of total domestic vehicle sales for the first seven months of the year.

Breakdown by category shows that hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) remain the largest segment, accounting for 54.11 percent of xEV sales. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) saw a 300.3 percent increase in sales compared to the previous year, while plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) experienced a 2,363 percent increase.

In the BEV segment, VinFast led July sales with 813 units, followed by Geely and Omoda & Jaecoo. In the HEV category, Toyota maintained the top position with 1,709 units sold. Overall, the top five automotive brands in the country for 2026 remain Toyota, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Ford, and Nissan.
