Philippine companies participate in nationwide coastal cleanup

Various organizations in the Philippines participated in the annual International Coastal Cleanup to support marine conservation efforts.

Phoenix Petroleum, through the Phoenix Philippines Foundation Inc., mobilized volunteers to collect 318 sacks of waste across 10 coastal sites. Cleanup activities took place near company facilities in locations including Batangas, Bacolod, Aklan, Davao, General Santos, Villanueva, Zamboanga, Iligan, and Cebu.

2GO Group, Inc., in partnership with SM Cares, deployed 149 employee-volunteers to sites in Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Davao, Cebu, and Manila. The company estimated that its volunteers diverted approximately 768 kilograms of coastal waste. In addition to manual labor, 2GO provided logistical support, including the donation of protective gloves and the transportation of heavy-duty weighing scales to ensure accurate documentation of collected waste.
