Philippine police conduct firearm surrenders and drug busts

Police units in the Philippines have conducted several operations involving the seizure and accounting of illegal or undocumented firearms and narcotics.

In Police Regional Office 12, five loose firearms—including a submachine gun, a revolver, a single-shot pistol, and homemade shotguns—were voluntarily surrendered by individuals, including four local government officials. Additionally, the Revitalized Katok program (ADFER) conducted 35 house visitations, resulting in the accounting of 35 more firearms for registration renewal or safekeeping.

Meanwhile, the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) honored officers for successful anti-drug and anti-gun operations in Bacolod City and E. B. Magalona. These August operations led to the seizure of approximately 311.971 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, valued at over PHP 2.1 million, along with various firearms and ammunition.
