Philippine Provinces Nueva Vizcaya and Bataan Launch 2026 National Disaster Resilience Month

On July 6, 2026 the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Nueva Vizcaya held a flag‑raising ceremony at the People’s Stage in Bayombong, marking the kick‑off of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026. Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Robert L. Corpuz, together with Governor Jose V. Gambito, highlighted the month’s theme “Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas” and outlined recent preparedness actions, including distribution of more than 3,000 “GO‑BAG” kits to municipalities and dozens of basic life‑support and first‑aid trainings for local officials, health workers, and schools. The office also conducted province‑wide earthquake drills and a motorcade with emergency and law‑enforcement agencies.

Two days earlier, on July 2, the Provincial Government of Bataan inaugurated its observance at the Bataan People’s Center. Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, Vice Governor Cris Garcia and regional civil‑defense officials led the ceremony, which featured Geo‑Risk initiatives, a disaster‑risk reduction static display and the province’s inaugural First Aid Olympics. Officials stressed that resilience depends on community preparation and coordinated response.
