Philippines: SSS sets aid deadline as DSWD assists repatriated OFWs

The Social Security System (SSS) has set an August 11 deadline for 132,496 members to update or re-enroll their disbursement accounts following unsuccessful crediting of the July P2,000 Uplift aid. Affected members must use the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM) to ensure successful re-crediting, which the SSS plans to process through the Land Bank of the Philippines starting August 12. This specific notice applies to Group 3 of the Uplift program, which targets 1.5 million low-income SSS members.

Separately, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has distributed over P12.3 million in assistance to 6,854 repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) affected by the Middle East crisis. This aid includes P10.7 million in financial assistance for 2,038 stranded workers, P1.2 million in livelihood grants through the Sustainable Livelihood Program, and P365,000 in medical assistance. These efforts are part of the government’s UPLIFT framework, directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., to support vulnerable families and ensure economic stability during global geopolitical tensions.
