Philippines suspends classes amid heavy monsoon rains

Heavy monsoon rains brought by the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, have triggered widespread class suspensions across various regions in the Philippines.

In the National Capital Region, an orange rainfall warning was issued by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council due to persistent flooding and heavy rains.

Local government units in Calabarzon, Central Luzon, and Pampanga have announced suspensions of face-to-face classes for various levels. Specific areas affected include parts of Cavite, Bulacan, and several municipalities in Pampanga such as Candanda and Guagua.
