Philippines telco sector projected to spend $2.45 billion in 2026

Telecommunications companies in the Philippines are projected to invest up to $2.45 billion in capital expenditures in 2026. According to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the combined guidance from PLDT, Globe Telecom, and Converge ICT Solutions totals approximately $2.21 billion.

Globe Telecom reported investing ₱26.3 billion in the first half of 2026, a 39% year-on-year increase. The company is aiming to keep its full-year capital expenditures below $1 billion, with 91% of those funds directed toward data-related initiatives and network expansion. Globe has achieved 5G outdoor population coverage of over 98% in Metro Manila and key cities in Visayas and Mindanao.

Other industry spending includes PLDT allocating roughly $930 million and Converge ICT Solutions setting a range of $310 million. DITO Telecommunity is expected to contribute between $170 million and $250 million. DICT Secretary Henry Aguda noted that these investments signal confidence in the Philippine market and will support the country’s digital-first economy and infrastructure needs.
