PhillGood Festival in Plovdiv draws 15,000 attendees, features The Cure

On the opening day of the inaugural PhillGood Festival in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, roughly 15,000 people attended. About one‑quarter of the crowd came from abroad, including visitors from Greece, Turkey, Serbia, North Macedonia, Iceland, China, Mexico, Brazil and Kazakhstan.

The programme included British headliners The Cure and Wolf Alice, as well as Gorillaz, Moby, local acts and electronic performers such as Acid Arab and Perturbator. Organiser Deniça Slavova said the aim is to make Plovdiv a cultural hub for the Balkans and to develop the festival further. Three stages – PhillCool, PhillGood and PhillRave – offered a mix of rock, indie, electronic and experimental music.
