Pöhl Reservoir: Two missing men recovered dead

Two men who went missing in late June following a boating accident at the Pöhl Reservoir have been recovered dead. The bodies were retrieved by divers from the Saxony State Police on Thursday.

The incident occurred when the two men, aged 28 and 41, entered the water while out on a pedal boat with a 27-year-old woman. The men reportedly lost contact with the boat and were likely swept away by strong currents. While the woman was able to reach the shore safely, the men remained missing despite extensive search efforts involving drones, echo sounders, and multiple rescue agencies.

The Zwickau Police Directorate confirmed the recovery but has not yet released further details regarding the circumstances of the deaths.
