Phoenix-EVENT 2026 forum addresses European technological sovereignty
The inaugural Phoenix-EVENT 2026, a European Deep-Tech Forum, took place on September 15 in Warsaw. Organized by Phoenix Systems, the conference brought together approximately 150 representatives from government administration, the military, the space sector, and academia to discuss European technological and digital sovereignty.
Key discussions focused on the need for Europe to develop its own core systems to compete globally, rather than acting solely as a consumer market for US and Chinese technologies. Paweł Pisarczyk, CEO of Phoenix Systems, highlighted the challenge of capital flight, noting that venture capital and investment often migrate to the US, and that European research is frequently commercialized outside the continent.
Significant outcomes of the event included the signing of a memorandum to establish the Polish SatCom Alliance and a strategic cooperation agreement between Phoenix Systems and the Dutch AI chip and accelerator company Axelera AI. Additionally, the conference showcased the role of the Phoenix-RTOS operating system within the European IPCEI-CIS project, serving as a secure foundation for Edge-IoT solutions.
