PhonePe signs MoUs with Indian government and Shell India
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has entered into Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with PhonePe and Shell India to bolster the Indian startup ecosystem. The partnership with PhonePe aims to provide startups with transaction credits via its Payment Gateway, access to the Indus AppStore, and mentorship through masterclasses on fintech and business scaling.
The collaboration with Shell India will specifically target startups in the energy and climate-tech sectors. Shell India intends to provide strategic guidance, investor connections, and opportunities through its E4 Smart Energy Track to support India’s clean energy transition.
In a separate development, PhonePe has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to integrate its PulsePro data intelligence platform into the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan portal. PulsePro utilizes aggregated and anonymized transaction data to provide hyperlocal market signals. This integration is intended to assist in national infrastructure planning, economic analysis, and urban and rural development through data-driven decision-making.
