Photography exhibitions and artist talks scheduled in Italy

Several photography exhibitions and related cultural events are taking place in Italy.

In Oristano, the Pinacoteca Carlo Contini will host a debate titled ‘L’arte legata. La pratica del kinbaku nella poetica di Araki’ on October 10. The event concludes the ‘Secret Pages’ exhibition dedicated to Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki as part of the 28th Dromos Festival. The discussion will explore the relationship between photography, eroticism, and the Japanese tradition of kinbaku, examining how Araki represents the body, desire, and intimacy. The session will include a live demonstration of Japanese rope binding by the Legàmi Cagliari project.

In Caserta, the Museo Reggia di Caserta is hosting the exhibition ‘Archetipi’ by contemporary photographer Antonio Biasiucci. To provide deeper insight into the work, Biasiucci will lead guided tours on October 9, and November 13 and 20. The exhibition features approximately 300 photographs and multimedia installations that explore universal themes of existence through the artist’s personal experiences and his connection to the Campania region.
