Photography festivals scheduled in Milan and Martina Franca

Italy is hosting several significant photography events this season. The Istituto Italiano di Fotografia (IIF) has launched the second edition of “October photo” in Milan. Running throughout October, the program features exhibitions, meetings, and projections with a focus on young contemporary photographers. Key highlights include the “Abitare” project by Martina Fumarola and Helena Terrasi, a street photography weekend titled “Cities Tales” on October 3-4, and the “Echi di Corvetto” exhibition exploring the Milanese neighborhood of Corvetto.

In Martina Franca, the 23rd edition of the FotoArte International Photography Festival is scheduled from September 18 to October 4. Centered at the Palazzo Ducale, this year’s theme is “Topos – Atlante Di Martina Franca.” The festival explores the concept of place through physical, cultural, and interior dimensions, using the city’s Baroque and contemporary landscape as a living case study. Most festival events are free to the public.
