Phu Quoc emerges as a premier luxury destination in Southeast Asia
Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island, is gaining regional recognition as a premier luxury travel destination. The Thai newspaper Thairath has highlighted the island as an ideal location for five-star getaways, noting its convenience for travelers due to nonstop flights from Bangkok and visa-free entry for Thai citizens for up to 30 days.
The island is noted for its diverse ecosystem of resorts and attractions, including high-end options such as JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, New World Phu Quoc, and Premier Residences Phu Quoc. Its growing prominence was previously supported by Expedia, which named Phu Quoc as a standout island destination for 2026.
Travelers visiting the island should note that Phu Quoc is geographically large, with different areas catering to various needs. Long Beach is identified as a convenient base for first-time visitors due to its proximity to the airport and Duong Dong, while other coastal areas offer more secluded resort experiences.
