Phu Tho driver faces 500 million VND fine for 99 violations

A Matiz car owner in Phu Tho province, Vietnam, faces nearly 500 million VND in fines after authorities identified 99 traffic violations associated with the vehicle. Of these, 96 were recorded as “cold fines” (camera-detected violations).

The owner, Tran Minh B., a freelance formwork subcontractor, purchased the vehicle in mid-2022 for 45 million VND. The family noted that the car's registration had expired in April 2023, but they had delayed renewal due to expected high repair costs.

According to family members, the owner had not received any prior notifications regarding these violations. The vehicle is currently being held by the Phu Tho Provincial Police, and the owner is reportedly seeking loans to cover the substantial fine amount.
