Phu Tho expands OCOP agricultural product program

Phu Tho province has expanded its ‘One Commune, One Product’ (OCOP) program, reaching a milestone of 600 products rated 3 stars or higher as of June 2026. Recent provincial evaluations recognized 15 new products with 3-star and 4-star ratings. Notable achievements include Banaco Export Processing Technology JSC’s dried banana product, which was upgraded from 3 to 4 stars, and premium tea from Hoai Trung Tea Co., Ltd., which is among the province's 5-star products.

The program is shifting focus from increasing quantity to enhancing quality, improving packaging, and ensuring traceability to meet higher market demands.

As OCOP brands gain market presence, there is an increasing need to protect them against counterfeit goods. Producers are adopting technological solutions, such as integrating QR codes for origin traceability and utilizing digital platforms, to safeguard brand integrity and maintain consumer trust. Experts suggest that effective brand protection must begin at the design stage through anti-counterfeit labels and transparent information.
