Phu Tho province launches 180-day land database cleaning campaign

Phu Tho province is implementing a 180-day intensive campaign to clean and enrich its land database, aiming to create a modern, synchronized, and accurate digital system. This initiative follows government directives to support digital transformation, administrative reform, and improved state management.

As of late August 2026, the province has standardized approximately 926,308 land parcels, representing 68.69% of its database. These records include spatial data, attribute data, and scanned files. However, only 54.76% of the total parcels currently meet the strict “correct, sufficient, clean, and live” technical criteria required for synchronization with the national population database.

Challenges to the campaign include inconsistent historical documentation, varying certificate formats, and difficulties reconciling old maps with new cadastral maps. Additionally, local authorities face limited specialized human resources in information technology and the pressure of managing high volumes of routine administrative procedures alongside the intensive data campaign.
