Physiotherapist detained in Goiânia over aesthetic procedure injuries

Magda Oliveira da Silva, a physiotherapist in Goiânia, remains in preventive detention following allegations of severe complications caused by aesthetic procedures. At least nine women have reported injuries including cuts, burns, bleeding, infections, necrosis, tissue loss, scarring, and loss of sensitivity. The procedures involved facial, gluteal, mammary, and intimate regions.

Investigators are looking into whether the procedures exceeded legal and technical professional limits, including invasive interventions and the unauthorized prescription of medications. During search and seizure operations at the suspect's residence and two associated clinics, police seized cell phones, documents, and expired medications. Authorities also noted that the clinics lacked proper sanitary licenses.

The Regional Council of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy of the 19th Region has opened an administrative and ethical-disciplinary proceeding to investigate the matter. Police have released the suspect's image to identify other potential victims.
