Piacenza expands anti‑litter patrols and opens new community health centre

The municipality of Piacenza is stepping up efforts to improve urban cleanliness. New patrols, carried out by civilian‑clad local police officers and Iren environmental inspectors, will target illegal waste dumping, misuse of public bins and unattended dog waste. Information about the inspections will be shared through more than thirty neighbourhood WhatsApp groups, allowing residents to receive real‑time updates.

At the same time, the city has inaugurated a new Casa della Comunità in the Belvedere district. The facility, built under the PNRR programme, provides a 24‑hour medical service, a nursing office, a single‑point access desk and a community hospital unit. Specialist outpatient services will be added gradually, and the centre will complement an existing community house on Piazza Milano, strengthening local health provision.

Both initiatives are part of the administration’s plan to boost public services, promote civic awareness and improve residents’ quality of life.
