Piedmont Region Advances PNRR Projects in Biellese with €33 Million Funding

The Piedmont regional authority reported that it has completed 58 projects in the Biellese area, allocating more than €33 million from the national PNRR programme. These projects are part of a broader effort that has seen 2,419 initiatives across the region receive €1.78 billion in funding, meeting 100 % of the EU‑mandated targets.

Key investments include health‑sector facilities such as the Community Hospital of Ponderano, community houses in Biella, Cossato and Ponderano, and the digital upgrade of the Hospital of the Nurses (emergency department, digital radiology, gamma camera and cardiac angiography). Professional training under the Garanzia Occupabilità dei Lavoratori (GOL) scheme benefitted 9,673 participants, with 41.2 % securing employment for more than six months. Energy‑efficiency measures funded the renovation of 75 homes in Biella, while hydrogeological risk reduction works addressed river Strona, river Cervo, bridge repairs and road restorations.

Overall, the regional rollout aims to boost economic and social development, improve public health services, and enhance environmental safety in the Biellese territory.
