Piedmont Region Achieves 100% PNRR Targets, Secures Extra €35 Million

The Piedmont region announced that it has completed all 44 targets of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) by the EU deadline, managing 2,419 projects worth €1.78 billion. Out of more than 39,000 interventions funded in the region, the total allocation exceeds €10 billion. By surpassing eleven targets—particularly in culture, digitalisation and home‑care services—the region earned an additional €35 million, which is being used to expand training programmes for 5,300 extra participants, acquire two zero‑emission trains, hire 15 additional experts, and increase digital‑service users by 18,400.

President Alberto Cirio said, “La Regione Piemonte raggiunge il 100 % degli obiettivi e rispetta le scadenze di Bruxelles… questo ci ha consentito di ottenere un premio di 35 milioni aggiuntivi.” Other Italian regions are also reporting progress: Tuscany has reached 100 % of its targets, while cities such as Florence and Bologna have attracted the largest shares of PNRR funding. Nationwide, the plan continues to drive investments in health, labour and ecological transition, with regions like Trentino‑Alto Adige allocating over €600 million to green projects. The overall PNRR rollout shows a mixed pace across the country but highlights Piedmont’s exemplary performance.

Minister for European Affairs Tommaso Foti described the effort as “un lavoro immane,” underscoring the massive scale of the programme’s implementation across Italy.
