Pieria launches Digital Hub for Sustainable Tourism

The Pieria Regional Unit, in collaboration with the Pieria Tourism Development and Promotion Organization and the International Hellenic University, has completed a series of information sessions regarding the development of a Digital Hub for Sustainable Tourism.

This initiative aims to establish a modern mechanism for collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to support strategic planning and evidence-based policymaking. The hub will serve as a primary tool for monitoring the destination's sustainability, tracking visitor numbers, and assessing the carrying capacity of sensitive areas, such as Mount Olympus, which was recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The information process included presentations at the Pieria Chamber of Commerce and meetings in the municipalities of Katerini, Dion-Olympus, and Pydna-Kolindros. Participants included local government representatives, tourism businesses, professional associations, and environmental groups.
