Pieria MP and Education Minister discuss school infrastructure

Pieria MP Anna Mani-Papadimtriou met with Minister of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports Sofia Zacharaki to discuss educational infrastructure and student welfare in the Pieria region.

Mani-Papadimtriou highlighted the urgent need for new school buildings for two special education schools in Katerini, which serve approximately 160 students. She also addressed the necessity of improving student support by creating housing facilities for students of the International Hellenic University (DIPAE), particularly in anticipation of a new undergraduate program in Maritime and Combined Transport Management.

Minister Zacharaki reported on completed interventions in Pieria, including the distribution of 381 interactive boards and 538 robotics kits. New initiatives presented include the further distribution of interactive systems, providing projectors alongside first aid training, creating school gardens in primary schools, and installing student lockers to reduce the weight of school bags.
