Pierin Vincenz and Beat Stocker face questioning in Zurich retrial

The retrial of former Raiffeisenbank chief Pierin Vincenz and his associate Beat Stocker continued in Zurich, with both defendants facing intense questioning regarding undisclosed corporate transactions.

Vincenz struggled to provide specific details during his testimony, frequently citing memory gaps. He claimed that Raiffeisen is pursuing the legal action to destroy him. The presiding judge, Christian Prinz, expressed skepticism regarding Vincenz’s explanations for certain expenses and his claims of inexperience during early transactions.

Beat Stocker, the former CEO of Aduno, attempted to justify the secrecy surrounding their investments as necessary entrepreneurial risk-taking. Stocker argued that because all parties profited, no conflict of interest existed. However, he later admitted to the court, “Today I know: Careful, conflict of interest, hands off, Beat!” as he expressed regret for his past actions.
