Pierin Vincenz’s Appeal Heard by Zurich Obergericht in August 2026

Zurich’s Obergericht will hear the appeal of former Raiffeisen Bank chief Pierin Vincenz and his co‑accused in early August 2026. The hearing is scheduled to begin on 10 August and is expected to run until 21 August, with an unusually large number of trial days allocated because of the case’s complexity.

In the original trial at the Zürich District Court in April 2022, Vincenz received a prison term of three years and nine months, while his former business partner Beat Stocker was sentenced to four years. Both were convicted of fraud, breach of duty and passive bribery. Prosecutors allege that they secretly acquired stakes in companies and facilitated their purchase by Raiffeisen or the credit‑card firm Aduno, allegedly generating millions in illicit profits. They are also accused of misusing business credit cards for personal expenses such as strip‑club visits, trips to Dubai and even a Tinder date, a practice described by the prosecutor as a “Tour de Suisse through the red‑light milieu”.

The appellate court had previously overturned the first‑instance verdict in February 2024 on procedural grounds, and the case is now back before the Obergericht for a full review.
