Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joins Deportivo La Coruña from Marseille
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has completed a transfer from Olympique Marseille to newly‑promoted LaLiga side Deportivo La Coruña. The deal, agreed at a fee of around €1.5 million, includes a two‑year contract. Marseille will save roughly €4 million in annual wages following the move.
The 37‑year‑old Gabonese striker recorded 14 goals and 10 assists in 41 appearances for Marseille last season. His career includes spells at Dortmund, Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea. Prior to the finalisation, clubs from Turkey and Brazil showed interest, but Aubameyang elected the sporting challenge of returning to Spain.
The transfer bolsters Deportivo’s attack as they aim to consolidate their LaLiga status, while Marseille look to reinvest the saved salary budget into new offensive options.
