Overview

Following interest from Genoa in early July 2026, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang completed a €1.5 million transfer from Marseille to Deportivo La Coruña on 15 July. The two-year deal, running until June 2028, allowed Marseille to reduce its annual wage bill by approximately €4.2 million. By late August, Aubameyang had successfully integrated into the squad. Despite criticisms regarding his age, the 37-year-old striker has made an immediate impact in league play, scoring in each of his first two appearances against Elche and Malaga. Deportivo sporting director Fernando Soriano defended the signing, stating the club sought experienced players to address specific deficiencies and noting that Aubameyang’s “physical condition, commitment, and hunger for success” impressed management.

Meanwhile, Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha remains linked to Liverpool.
